Imphal, February 07 2017: An eight year old minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by one of her cousin brothers and she was admitted to Raj Medicity.

Speaking to media persons today at the hospital, the victim's mother who belongs to a location in Imphal East district under Lamlai police station said that her daughter could not be traced after she returned from school yesterday.

Even though most family members thought that she might have gone out to play in the neighbourhood, she did not return till late evening.

Even as a frantic search was launched, the girl could not be traced the whole night.

She was found lying in the bank of Iril river in semi-conscious state this morning.

She was then immediately taken to Raj Medicity.

According to the mother, the minor reportedly said that she was taken to the river bank by one of her cousin brothers who also happens to be their immediate neighbour.

Injury marks were also seen on the face, head and other body parts of the girl.

Meanwhile, sources informed that Imphal East District Police have pulled up an underage youth.
