Bomb attack claims one at Ashang Khullen village

Imphal, March 08 2017: One civilian, an Assistant Teacher of K Ashang Khullen Aze Aided Primary School, was killed in a bomb attack carried out by militants targeting Assam Rifles troops at Ashang Khullen village, Kamjong near Indo-Myan-mar border yesterday.

The Assistant Teacher who was assigned duty for the second phase of polling held today has been identified H Ramkating s/o H Soreingam.

Meanwhile, Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Kumar Dewangan has condoled the demise of H Ramkating.

Apart from assuring all possible help to the bereaved family, the CEO has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 20 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased.

It was already reported that another IED exploded at Aishi village on the same day and two AR personnel were injured.
