Blast in Assamís Tinsukia District, Two Injured

May 04: A man and his nine-year old daughter sustained minor injuries when a hand grenade exploded in Assamís Tinsukia district tonight, police said.

Suspected miscreants threw the grenade near a BSNL telephone exchange at Kakopathar Tiniali and the man and his daughter, who were in their grocery shop there were injured, the police said.

They were rushed to a local hospital. Police could not ascertain immediately if ULFA was involved in the explosion and investigations were on. District Superintendent of Police and other senior officials have rushed to the spot, the police added.
