Meghalaya: Uncle brutally murders 7 year old niece

Shillong, May 8: In a case of total disregard for human life, a 7 year old girl was brutally murdered by her very own uncle at  Umthied Bynther, a village  which is 3.3 kilometres away from Mairang, West Khasi Hills, Meghalaya  yesterday.

According to reports by a police officer  of Mairang outpost in West Khasi Hills; her uncle named as Balajied Kyrpang Nongrum had called the victim to his house at around 2 in the afternoon. He later slit her niece’s throat with a knife and the victim bled to death.

The accused later disposed the body of the deceased 200 metres away from the crime scene.

The crime is still under investigation as reported by the Mairang Police and the motive behind the murder is still yet unclear. Medical examination is yet to be done so as to ascertain whether the victim had undergone any from sexual assault or rape.
