Nagaland: Woman allegedly raped and murdered in Zunheboto

KOHIMA, September 21: In gruesome case, a mother of three children was murdered after being allegedly raped in Aghunato sub division of Zunheboto. Her body was found near Tsutha River.

The alleged rapist, identified as one Samuel has been arrested.

In protest against the alleged rape and murder, Sumi Totimi Hoho, Sumi Hoho, ZTYO and GB Associations organized a protest rally and submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner demanding death penalty to the rapist.

The organizations said if the authority fails to take appropriate action against the accused, they would be compelled to take their own course of action as per Sumi Customary Law.

The organization has also appealed to the District Administration to place the accused Samuel’s case to the Fast Track Court for speedy delivery of justice.
