Grenade attack at MLA’s residenc

Imphal, August 29 2016: Ukhrul AC MLA Samuel Risom was attacked by some unidentified persons by hurling a hand grenade at his Dewlahlane residence in the intervening night of August 28 and 29 .

However, there was no report of casualty in the blast which occurred at around quarter past midnight today.

However, it damaged a car and some portions of the MLA’s residence.

Notably, one individual sustained injuries when anther hand grenade exploded at the residential gate of the NPF MLA on February 19, 2014 .

Meanwhile, one hand grenade was found at the courtyard of Md Jakaria (37) at Lilong Ubakthong, Thoubal district this morning.

It is said that Md Jakaria is a Government school teacher.

A combined team of a bomb disposal squad and a team of Lilong police station later retrieved the hand grenade, informed a source.
