Body of woman found near Shillong hospital

SHILONG, Mar 9, 2017: The body of a 27-year-old woman was found by the side of a road near the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) at Mawdiangdiang on the outskirts of the city on Tuesday morning.

Passers-by stumbled upon the body at around 5 am and informed police. The deceased was identified as Jenisha Jyrwa, a resident of Bishop Falls, Mawprem. Police sources said the body was partially clothed and bore signs of assault.
