Assam: Rejection of sexual advances causes mother to lose her child!

GUWAHATI, APRIL 26 2017: Police arrested an Assamese for kidnapping the child of a woman hailing from Assam after she rejected his sexual advances. Udyeshwar Saikia (26), a native of Joyrampur village in Dhemaji district of Assam, is the accused.

 According to police, the woman and her three children were living in a rented house at Toshiba Junction in Kalamassery . Accused knew the woman as they hailed from the same village.

 “He went to the house of the woman and misbehaved with her on Sunday . He left agitated from the house after she rejected his sexual advances. He visited the house on Monday again and fled with her youngest son,” police said. The other children told about the incident to the mother, who informed the police. Police arrested him from Aluva railway station on Monday night and rescued the child.

The accused has been charged with sections 361 (kidnapping ), 354 (assault), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC and under section 84 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules.
