Seeking Justice for her Son Killed by Manipur CM’s Son, Irom Chitra Devi Knocks PM’s Door

May 22, 2017: Irom Chitra Devi, mother of Irom Rogers, a young lad killed by Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s son has been knocking the influential doors in our national capital in her quest for justice. She has been seeking the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the case.

Irom Roger, the only son of Irom Chitra was shot dead by the son of the Manipur’s Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on March 20, 2011, in the fit of rage. However, following a probe into the case by the CBI in January, a lower court in Imphal charged the accused, N. Ajay Meeitei, son of the present Chief Minister N Biren Singh with committing homicide not amounting to murder and sentenced him to five years in jail.

In a recent interview with a website, Irom Chitra Singh said, ‘I have nothing personal against the Chief Minister of Manipur, it is just that I have a right to seek justice for my son who was killed. I have also submitted a memorandum to the Home Minister on May 19, seeking his cooperation with a mother who is looking for justice for her son.’
