Imphal, October 17 2016: At least two women and a minor girl have been injured when a grenade exploded at Tangkhul Avenue under Lamphel police station at around 7.10 pm today.
The grenade exploded on the roof of Nimreih Shimray’s garage injuring Veronica (18), Sunita (27) and Leisymrim (8) who have been staying in his house on rent.
They are currently undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity.
The blast also damaged a Bolero jeep kept in the garage.
Incidentally, Nimreih Shimray is the president of Ukhrul District Contractors’ Association.
He said that MNRF served a demand note of Rs three lakh to the association about 15 days back.
Apart from this, there was no case of threat or monetary demand from any UG group, he added.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Lamphel police station in connection with the bomb blast.
