Manipur police rescued Nagaland girl from traffickers

19 January 2017: A 17-year old girl from Nagaland who went missing on January 13 was rescued by Manipur police on January 17 at Imphal Airport, before being trafficked to Delhi.

A statement from Manipur police PRO said that the girl from Chandmari, Kohima was off loaded from a Jet Airways by a team of CID (SB) led SP from Imphal Airport.

She was later handed over to Nagaland Women Police on January 17.

Investigation is on to nab the traffickers, who had lured the girl with decent job offer in New Delhi, PRO said.

It has been revealed that the traffickers befriended her through Facebook and sent her flight tickets for Imphal-Guwahati Jet Airways and
Guwahati-Delhi Jet Airways Flight, the PRO said in the statement.
