Imphal, April 03 2017: A man who is accused of raping a minor girl has been remanded to police custody for eight days till April 10 by Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bishnupur today.
The accused identified as Kumam Abung (30) s/o Chaoba of Moirang Khunou Makha Leikai was produced before the Court under FIR number 9 (4) 2017 Woman police station Bishnupur under Section 4 of POCSO Act.
Investigation Officer of the case prayed before the Court to grant eight days police custody remand for the accused for further interrogation which the latter accepted.
Mention may be made that the rape accused was handed over to Women police station Bishnupur from Imphal after he was summoned by Manipuri Student’s Federation (MSF).
He had confessed to raping a minor girl in a brick farm located at Thinungei under Moirang police station on March 18 last.
