Assam: Minor raped in silchar; police accused of shielding alleged rapist!

Guwahati May 2, 2017- Hundreds of protesters blocked the National Highway 53 in Silchar alleging that the police had shielded Suman Uddin, accused of raping a 6 year old minor.

Locales alleged that the miscreant raped the minor while she was alone at home. When the minor narrated her ordeal to her parents, fumed locales attacked the house of the accused.

The locales threatened to intensify the stir if the police failed to initiate stern action against the accused.
