IED blast at Yairipok Bishnunaha, Manipur; One suspect pulled up

Thoubal, November 03 2015:
One woman suspected to be involved in setting off a powerful IED at the Yairipok Bishnunaha residence of IPR and MI Parliamentary Secretary K Meghachandra last night has been apprehended by a police team led by Yairipok SDPO S Hemanta from Hatta, Golapati today.

The apprehended suspect has been identified as Sana Chiru (38) w/o Khamba Chiru of Sangaithel but presently staying at the Yairipok colony of Hatta.

In the meantime, the two persons killed in the powerful blast have been identified.

They were Md Daulad (22) s/o late Atao Rahaman of Yairipok Tulihal, Heirok Leirak and Nameirakpam Boboy (23) s/o N Sarat of Yairipok
Poiroukhongjin.

Both of them were staying in rented rooms at Hatta Golapati, Yairipok Colony.

In connection with the bomb blast, Nameirakpam Boboy’s mother N Tombi Devi (45) has been pulled up by the police.

Meanwhile, taking strong exception to the deadly bomb blast, a protest demonstration was staged today at the residential gate of Parliamentary Secretary K Meghanchandra.

The protesters condemned in the strongest term the act of triggering a powerful bomb blast in civilian areas.

The also urged all concerned to explain who carried out the bomb attack and why.

Meghachandra said that he was shocked by the deadly bomb blast.

The attack looked like it was meticulously planned.

Two persons who were suspected of bringing the bomb were killed in the blast but luckily no other civilian was hurt, said the Parliamentary Secretary.

Stating that he had no idea who carried out the attack, he maintained that there was no case of any monetary demand from
any quarter.

He also appealed to all concerned to refrain from such violent activities which can claim many innocent lives.

Meanwhile, several civil organisations of Yairipok area have condemned the bomb blast.
