Leirak Nambul Mapal under Imphal police station at around 7.30 pm today.
Dijen is said to be a contractor of Government’s PMGSY scheme.
According to information culled from the spot, the bomb is suspected to be an IED and nobody was injured in the incident.
The bomb exploded just a few feet away from the residential wall of Dijen’s neighbour Achom Tampha. Window panes of Dijen’s house and steel gate of Tampha were damaged in the blast.
Soon after the incident, a team of Imphal west district police led by Th Vikramjit, Additional SP (Operations) came there and inspected the blast site.
A girl from Dijen’s neighbouring family identified as Achom Maheshori (13) collapsed on hearing the loud sound of the blast.
However, her condition is now stated to be out of danger.
Itis suspected that the blast might have been carried out in connection with a monetary demand served to Dijen by an underground outfit.
Meanwhile, locals have condemned the attack. They demanded a clarification on the incident from the organisation concerned. Imphal
police have taken up a case regarding the incident.
