Delhi, April 27, 2017: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued a notice to the education department after the parents of a rape victim alleged that the school insisted that the girl would be promoted to Class 11 only if she didn’t attend classes.

DCW has asked for a report within 5 days.

The girl, who is a Class 10 student studying in a private school, was kidnapped, raped and then thrown out of a moving car. According to the parents, school administration had voiced their fear that if the girl came to school it would spoil school’s image.

They also alleged that the school asked them give an undertaking that it will not be held responsible if any untoward incident occurs with the girl in future in its premises.

That’s not all.

The parents also accused that the principal has forbidden their daughter’s friends from sitting next to her.

The DCW chief Swati Maliwal said, ” This is a very serious matter. The girl is being punished for no fault of hers and it is a very embarrassing and unacceptable matter in today’s world.”
